Malcarne Contracting is growing and looking to add an experienced General Construction Worker to our team.
This position is ideal for someone with well-rounded construction knowledge and at least 5 years of hands-on experience in residential and light commercial work. The General Construction Worker will assist with a variety of projects, including framing, remodeling, repairs, demolition, basic electrical, basic plumbing, finish work, and general job site tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform general construction work on residential and light commercial projects
- Assist with wall framing, layout, structural repairs, renovations, and remodeling
- Install, repair, and replace building materials, fixtures, trim, doors, windows, siding, drywall, and related components
- Perform basic electrical tasks such as assisting with fixture replacement, outlets, switches, wiring prep, and job site electrical support under proper supervision
- Perform basic plumbing tasks such as assisting with fixture installation, pipe repairs, drain work, water lines, and general plumbing-related project support under proper supervision
- Assist with demolition, site preparation, cleanup, and material handling
- Use hand tools, power tools, saws, nailers, drills, ladders, and other construction equipment safely
- Read basic plans, measurements, layouts, and project instructions
- Work with project managers, crew leaders, subcontractors, and other trades to complete jobs efficiently
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Communicate professionally with coworkers, supervisors, and customers
- Follow company safety procedures and quality standards
- Perform other general construction duties as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Broad knowledge of general construction, remodeling, framing, repairs, and finish work
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing work preferred
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to measure, cut, install, repair, and troubleshoot common construction tasks
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a crew
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding work
- Must take pride in quality workmanship and job site safety
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently
